They Return to Yard for a Missing Kitten After Saving Cat Family, Turns Out the Little Guy Has Heart of Gold

Missing Kitten After Saving Cat F

Last month, a mother cat was discovered living with her kittens in a backyard that was set to be cleared for construction later that same Saturday. The area was dangerous, and although the mama cat was understandably cautious, she still allowed kind people to come close. Volunteers from Little Wanderers NYC quickly stepped in and brought the mother and her four kittens to safety.

Once they arrived at their foster home, the little family stayed close together. They were scared and unsure at first, but at least they were finally out of danger and could begin to relax in a safe place.

After spending a few days in a quiet and cozy environment, the mother cat, now named Shadow, and her kittens slowly started adjusting to indoor life. They received the medical care they desperately needed and enjoyed regular meals, something they likely had very little of while surviving outside.

But the rescue mission was not yet complete. Volunteers went back to the backyard to make sure no kitten had been left behind. Two days later, they found another tiny kitten all alone.

The kitten, later named Bucky, had a wound on his neck and clearly needed extra attention. Rescuers could only imagine what he had gone through while trying to survive by himself, separated from his mother and siblings on the streets. Despite everything, once he was brought indoors, he quickly settled into his soft blankets and even began to purr.

Bucky remained calm in his carrier and behaved like a perfect little gentleman during his vet visit, almost as though he understood that he was finally safe and surrounded by people who wanted to help him.

With proper treatment, love, and lots of care, he recovered beautifully. As soon as Bucky realized he would no longer have to fight for food or live in fear outside, his true personality started to appear. He turned out to be an incredibly sweet kitten with a huge personality and an even bigger heart.

The moment he experienced human affection, Bucky completely embraced it. He became brave, playful, and extremely social. He loved following his humans around the house, making sure he was part of everything they were doing and constantly asking for attention.

He is happiest when he is playing, cuddling, or trailing after his people. Even though he is only about three months old, he is remarkably gentle and never scratches or bites, not even during energetic kitten playtime.

After all his playful adventures, Bucky loves nothing more than curling up on his humans and falling asleep in their arms. He has truly become a little cuddle bug.

Bucky also has a huge love for food and gets so excited at mealtime that he is still learning not to dive straight into the bowl. On top of that, he absolutely adores other cats. In one especially adorable moment, he saw his own reflection in a mirror and climbed onto his foster mom’s shoulder to greet the “other kitten.”

Meanwhile, mama Shadow has also blossomed in foster care. She now spends her days relaxing by the window, watching people and little critters outside while soaking up the warm sunshine.

Now that her kittens are growing up and becoming independent, Shadow’s days of motherhood are finally behind her. She is ready for a peaceful and loving forever home where she can spend the rest of her life feeling safe, comfortable, and deeply loved.
