Blind Kitten and Her Brother Navigate Their New World Together, Charming Every Cat They Meet

Angel and Cherub, two tiny kittens, first arrived at Kitten Rescue Life with fragile bodies and uncertain futures. When Asa, a foster volunteer, decided to take them in, she anticipated many challenges. Asa shared her concerns with Love Meow, saying, “I was really worried at first since they had a multitude of issues.” What she didn’t expect was how much strength, resilience, and joy these two siblings would bring into her home, and how their story would touch so many hearts.

The Story of Angel and Cherub

Angel, a white kitten, was born with microphthalmia, a condition where the eyes don’t form properly. Completely blind from birth, she required immediate special care. The vet recommended bilateral enucleation, the removal of both eyes, to prevent future complications.

  • Angel’s blindness never slowed her down.
  • She quickly mapped out her playpen and confidently navigated it.
  • She never missed her litter box.

Cherub’s Courage and Friendliness

Cherub, her equally small brother, became known for his courage and sociable nature. Asa initially thought that only one kitten would make it, but when Cherub had his first zoomies, Asa gained hope for both kittens’ survival.

  • Cherub is always ready to make new friends.
  • He tries to befriend every animal he meets, whether they reciprocate or not.
  • Cherub’s cheerful spirit helped Angel become more confident.

The Bond Between Angel and Cherub

When two older kittens, Ash and Brock, arrived at the foster home, Cherub was the first to approach them, despite being half their size. Angel, who was initially more reserved, warmed up as well. Asa says, “Angel is now more confident, and the combination of Cherub’s fearless nature and Angel’s vigilant personality creates the perfect balance between them.”

  • Angel and Cherub share a very special bond.
  • Their personalities complement each other perfectly.
  • Angel won over Marvel, another older foster, who joined their playful adventures.

Angel’s Eye Surgery

Angel recently underwent eye surgery, but within hours of returning home, she was back to playing her favorite game of “soccer.” Asa says, “Angel is completely back to normal, running around and wrestling with Cherub.” Whenever Angel hears the bell toy, she pounces on it with remarkable precision, leaving the older cats in awe.

A New Beginning

With Asa’s care, Angel and Cherub have blossomed into confident, playful kittens. They are now ready for their forever home, one that will embrace Angel’s blindness as part of her unique charm, rather than a limitation. Cherub’s outgoing spirit and Angel’s playful resilience make them the perfect pair, and they thrive side by side.

  • Angel and Cherub’s story is truly inspiring.
  • They went from fragile beginnings to becoming confident kittens.
  • Their bond is their greatest strength.
  • Asa hopes they find a forever home together.
