As they headed back to their trucks, Ryan’s coworker spotted a little bundle of fur in the parking lot. “He pointed out a kitten walking towards us. The kitten came right up to me, only a few weeks old, looking for someone to protect her,” Ryan shared with Love Meow.
Trying to Save the Kitten
“I picked her up and decided to call my friend Stephanie at Sparkle Cat Rescue to see if she could help.” Stephanie immediately offered to help, and within ten minutes, Ryan had the kitten, Anastasia, or Ana for short, safely in Stephanie’s care.
Ana’s Cuddly Start
Though Ana wasn’t thrilled about the cat carrier, she was instantly curious about her new surroundings. She crawled into Stephanie’s lap, climbed onto her shoulders, and pressed her tiny face against her as if to say thank you. From the start, Ana made it clear she wanted to be held and wasn’t taking no for an answer.
Foster Mom Steps In
Within an hour, Cindy, one of the rescue’s dedicated volunteers, stepped up to foster Ana. Even though she already had two other foster cats, she didn’t hesitate to make room for one more.
Ana, the Tiny and Strong Kitten
At just five weeks old and a little over a pound, Ana was fluffy as a cloud and full of affection. While waiting to meet her foster mom, she perched on Stephanie’s shoulder, surveying the world with wide eyes.
Ana’s New Life
After a whirlwind of a day, Ana curled up in her new bed and drifted into a well-deserved nap. “Cindy told me she went right to sleep as soon as I passed her along. It had been a very busy hour for Ana,” Stephanie shared.
Ana’s Playful Nature
Later that day, Ana woke up refreshed, ready to show off her playful spirit. She quickly discovered toys, pouncing and wrestling with them as if she were ten times her size. Though still tiny and mostly fluff, she was fearless and adventurous, exploring every corner of her new space.
Cindy’s Praise
Ryan, a longtime supporter of Sparkle Cat Rescue, never expected a lunch break to end with a kitten in his arms. Now, he can rest easy knowing that Ana is in good hands, loved, and has a bright future ahead.
