They Take in 2-week-old Kitten in Need of Help and Change Her Life Overnight Through Team Effort and More

2-week-old Kitten

A two-week-old tabby kitten arrived at The Odd Cat Sanctuary after being surrendered by a local owner. She was the only kitten in her litter and was not nursing, leaving her in a fragile condition.

Three dedicated veterinary technicians worked around the clock to help her survive. Initially underweight, the kitten showed a strong will to live. Her caregiver ensured she was fed every two hours, even throughout the night.

When she was placed with a second bottle feeder, she was given the name Onion. From that point, she began to gain weight steadily. At first, she had to be fed using a syringe, but as her strength improved, she transitioned to bottle feeding and developed a healthy appetite.

After each feeding, Onion enjoyed cuddling with her caregiver before resting in a warm, comfortable bed. She quickly became affectionate, often falling asleep on shoulders or nestled close to her human. Gentle belly rubs would make her happily roll around.

As she grew stronger, her playful and curious nature began to shine. She started exploring beyond her nest and showed interest in her surroundings.

By four weeks old, Onion was thriving. She eagerly drank from a bottle and never missed a feeding. Her progress was remarkable compared to her early struggles.

During her recovery, she formed a bond with a gentle foster dog named Puck, who showed her companionship and comfort. He allowed her to climb over him and play, helping her build confidence.

With the care and dedication of the veterinary team and volunteers, Onion continued to flourish. She is now healthy, playful, and ready to move into her forever home, where she will be welcomed by a new family and a feline companion.

Despite her difficult start, Onion has grown into a happy and loving kitten, surrounded by care and affection.
