About a month ago, Danielle Chavez, founder of With Grace, was contacted about a tiny kitten found in a feral cat colony.
A mother cat had left behind two newborn kittens after giving birth, and only one—an orange-and-white kitten later named Xavier—survived. The finder waited for hours, hoping the mother would return, but she never did. Thanks to a strong rescue network, Danielle quickly stepped in to help.
The kitten was carefully warmed back to a healthy body temperature and placed on a round-the-clock feeding schedule. Settled into a cozy incubator with a soft faux companion, Xavier quickly relaxed and fell asleep in his new, safe environment.
Once stabilized, Xavier proved to be easy to care for. His strong will to live showed as he eagerly took to bottle feeding, soon developing a healthy, round belly with consistent care.
Understanding the importance of companionship for young kittens, Danielle prioritized finding Xavier a friend of similar age to prevent Single Kitten Syndrome.
During this time, she learned about another kitten in need—Tristan—who had been found alone but appeared clean and well cared for, suggesting he had a mother nearby. Situations like this are common, where kittens are mistakenly removed even though their mother may only be temporarily away.
Tristan arrived with minor stomach issues but quickly recovered with proper treatment. He showed a sweet and affectionate personality, purring instantly at any attention and displaying a gentle, loving nature.
Once both kittens were healthy, they were introduced. Tristan was immediately excited and playful, while Xavier was initially surprised by his energy. However, it didn’t take long for them to bond.
Soon, the two were inseparable—playing, wrestling, and cuddling together constantly. Despite coming from different backgrounds, they formed a perfect companionship.
Xavier is slightly more reserved, while Tristan is outgoing and affectionate. Together, they spend their days exploring, playing, eating, and staying close to each other, forming a strong and heartwarming bond.
