He ran the block like he owned it, going door to door to “shoot the breeze” with his neighbors. “He would make himself comfortable on porches, gazing into windows and sprawling out on sidewalks for belly rubs,” Tails High, a local animal rescue, shared.
He’d lounge on a neighbor’s patio chair, waiting patiently for them to come outside and join him.

He even attended backyard parties, where he was lavished with snacks and all the attention he desired. Though adored by every neighbor, he still hadn’t entertained the idea of becoming an indoor pet.
That all changed one day when they found him in need of help.

“One day, Mr. Rogers came for his usual feeding, and he was limping badly, so his caretakers knew he needed help.”
They immediately brought him inside to safety and contacted Tails High for assistance. “We worked with them to arrange a visit to our ER. He had a soft tissue injury to his knee, likely from jumping awkwardly.”

Fortunately, all he needed was some pain medication and plenty of rest to recover. In the days that followed, Mr. Rogers wholeheartedly embraced his new life as an indoor cat. “He was a perfect gentleman inside.”
He reveled in the comfort of a loving home, the company of his humans, and food galore. “We knew he couldn’t go back to life on the streets.”

“Mr. Rogers made his way to a Tails High foster (home), where he continued to thrive. He met other kitties and even a doggie friend, and he was truly just the best boy.”
When he was finally ready to settle into a home of his own, the perfect application arrived. A woman who had recently lost her beloved cat was searching for a companion for her senior cat. “When she saw a picture of Mr. Rogers, she was instantly smitten.”
