They hurried to help a cat and her kittens that they discovered wandering around in an empty apartment.
An urgent request regarding a mother cat and her four kittens was received by Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions last month.
An apartment complex manager noticed something unexpected while examining a unit. The previous tenant had abandoned a mother cat and her four kittens inside the empty apartment, with no one to take care of them.
While he looked for a solution he made sure the family was safe and fed. He learned about Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions about a week later.
Vanessa Porter Executive Director of Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions, told Love Meow, “We took the family in right away as soon as he reached out.”
Despite the situation Chai the loving mother cat had done everything in her power to care for her kittens. She appeared relieved to have been located and to know that her infants were at last secure. After settling into their foster home, the kittens—Saffron, Chamomile, Earl Grey, and Kombucha—curled up and slept on a warm blanket fort.
Chai started to unwind and concentrate on her own needs once the kittens were weaned and more self-sufficient. She lounged on her favorite perch and enjoyed the affection of others.
Chai could officially stop being a mother now that the kittens were eating solid food on their own. She didn’t have to wait long after being spayed and put up for adoption. She won the affection of a devoted family not long after she arrived at the adoption center.
As this was going on the kittens raced around their foster home, claiming every space they came into contact with, including Vanessa’s lap.
They were intelligent gregarious and flourishing from the start. They have no fear and a strong will to survive. They have a lot of personality, curiosity, and self-assurance.
Every time one kitten finds a new spot to perch or watch, the others follow. They soon form a comfortable puddle of cuddles. The four frequently move in perfect unison, sticking their heads out like a clowder.
Every room becomes their own playground as the kittens follow their foster mother around like shadows. “They have every toy, tunnel, and climbing tree imaginable, and they go all out until they crash, then they all pile onto me for cuddles,” Vanessa remarked. “All four are incredibly sweet, gentle purring machines.”
Vanessa’s resident cat Regina George a former member of Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions, offered assistance after their mother was happily adopted. She keeps an eye on them, sharing her feline knowledge and providing gentle guidance.
The kittens watch her every move and are utterly enthralled with her.

By coincidence the names we gave them at intake still perfectly reflect their personalities. The lone boy, Saffron, is the most boisterous and daring. Chamomile is a little more reserved and would rather let her older brother try new things first.
I think Earl Grey is the second most courageous. She always appears to be posing for the camera due to her breathtaking beauty. Kombucha is the most self-reliant and subtly perceptive.
Chai is now the queen of her home and will always be remembered because of their finder and committed volunteers. Her four kittens are thriving and headed for a promising future full of affection, coziness, and lots of spoiling.
These little tea party cuties are growing and soaking up every ounce of love while they get stronger.
