After living on the streets for many years a cat was given a new beginning and his transformation is truly amazing.
In search of a better life ten-year-old Ralphie a gray cat was brought to the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission.
He was rough around the edges and had probably lived on the streets for the majority of his life. He was obviously in need of immediate care and a foster home where he could eventually recover by the time he got to the shelter.
“This sweet 10-year-old boy was brought in as a stray and has a myriad of health concerns” Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue said. “Despite everything he’s facing he’s the sweetest purriest boy who just wants love.” Ralphie’s mouth was malformed from birth due to a congenital defect and years of hard outdoor life caused it to become inflamed.
Ralphie was taken from the shelter and placed in foster care in time for Christmas thanks to community support. “This senior boy gets to spend the holidays in a loving safe and caring foster home where he will be pampered.”
Ralphie flourished once he was in a house. In an attempt to make up for lost time he leaned into comfort and eagerly sought affection.
“He has the best personality and we couldn’t be happier that he is in our care” said Haley the rescue coordinator at Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue.
In an attempt to get Haley’s attention Ralphie got up on his hind legs and rubbed his face against her. He soon climbed onto her shoulders delighted to be transported.
Ralphie handled every treatment like a pro as if he knew he was receiving the assistance he required he appeared appreciative of his food comfortable beds and all the affection he was showered with. With the right treatment he started to recover and his voracious appetite reappeared.
“Most of the weight that he has gained appears to have gone to his cheeks.”

A revitalized enthusiasm for life accompanied better health. Ralphie found his adventurous playful side again following his humans from room to room and batting at toys. He was always up for a snack or a hug.
He immediately made himself the official shoe watcher and door greeter after finding the shoe rack meowing softly to welcome everyone home.Ralphie’s mouth completely recovered after a few weeks in foster care and he underwent an amazing metamorphosis. He was full of energy and kept a voracious appetite for both food and affection as he zipped around the house. “He is a sweet boy who has undergone quite the ‘He’s All That’ makeover.”
On top of the kitchen cabinets he discovered a new viewpoint from which he could easily keep an eye on his subjects and survey his realm.

Ralphie is the ideal friend because he is playful and loving. He approaches every day with curiosity gives his people lots of purrs and cuddles and ensures that not a single crumb is left behind during mealtime.
Ralphie is at last enjoying the comfortable indoor life he has always deserved after years of living on the streets and wandering.
He is now prepared for his next chapter a forever home where he will be loved unconditionally and have all the comfort food and entertainment he could ever want.
