Mother Cat With Four Kittens Also Takes in Five More Who Needed Care

After discovering four kittens outside, the cat adopted five more that were in need of a mother.

A call regarding a mother cat and her four kittens in need of a safe place to land was received by Best Friends Felines.

Good Samaritans had taken in the feline family because they couldn’t keep them for very long. They came to their aid because they wanted to give them the best chance at life. A volunteer went out right away to pick them up, but another message arrived while she was traveling.

Although the mother of the five kittens was missing, they shared the same ancestry as the first family. “We don’t know what happened to her, only that she never came back,” the rescue said.

The first family’s mother cat welcomed the orphaned kittens right away and started treating them like her own. “She had already taken all nine kittens under her wing, snuggling them close and keeping them safe, when our carer arrived.”

The ten-person family settled into a comfortable room with toys, full food bowls, soft beds, and lots of room to explore. The unfamiliar surroundings and the sound of a storm outside initially made the mother cat, Celine, a little anxious. “But she soon relaxed, knowing her babies were safe.”

The park kittens were a little older, but they were extremely underweight and required additional feedings in addition to Celine’s careful attention. “To help them catch up, we started them on supportive feeds of kitten formula and baby cat mousse.”

Celine’s own kittens quickly became aware of the additional meals and gladly joined in.

The kittens started to flourish with the help of their foster mother, Jen. They gained weight and strength by devouring every meal. Jen was shocked to learn that all nine of the kittens were female.

Bada, one of the kittens, scared her foster mother when she unexpectedly became sick, but with medicine, careful observation, and lots of affection, she recovered and doubled her weight in just one week. “She’s back to being her wild, wonderful self.”

Celine eventually let herself unwind as the kittens became healthy and self-sufficient. She found the joy of play again and stopped hovering over them.

Stretching out on a shelf above the pen, she began to take more time for herself. “She only stirred when she heard the unmistakable sound of food being served.”

“Celine has shown herself to be among the kindest and most affectionate cats we have ever encountered. She rushes to welcome guests for pets and conversation because she is self-assured, gregarious, and talkative. But affection is her favorite thing. She is appreciative of each tender touch and leans in for love.

Every day, the rescue consumed mountains of food to feed ten hungry mouths. Celine and her kittens had everything they needed to survive and never missed a meal because of the amazing support of their community.

The rescue hoped Mama Celine would find the caring home she deserved when the kittens were ready for their next phase.

Keely saved the day just before the New Year while looking for her best friend. It was love at first sight when she first saw Celine. “She knew Celine was the ideal companion for her.”

Celine eventually gets to be the baby herself, living the ideal life as the center of attention in her forever home, after raising nine kittens and showing them unconditional love.
