We wouldn’t know what to do without the people who work in shelters. If you look, you can find stories of people leaving their cats almost every day. Some people just don’t get it; they don’t know how great cats are. And every day, when we hear a story like that, we think that instead of leaving the cat outside to fend for itself, they could have just given it to a shelter. The cat had never lived outside before. It might not be perfect, but it would still be better than nothing.
And some shelters are like heaven. Some shelters have staff who will do anything to make sure that the cats in their care get the best care possible. They keep these cats alive. Dweeb would not have survived without this shelter. He was very sick, only seven months old, and left alone. When we called his owners through the chip info, they said they didn’t want him. We will always be grateful to this shelter for saving this cat’s life and many others.
Friends of Bear Cat Rescue feederofcats This baby used to have a home. It was sweet purred and headbutted. He has been neutered and given a microchip. But now they found him outside with a broken jaw, skinny, in pain, and unable to eat. The people who own his chip were called and said they don’t want him. That’s okay, buddy.
This baby is a kitten. It isn’t even an adult cat yet. They gave him a microchip and took away his ability to have babies. They took him in, cared for him, and then left him. We can’t even think about doing that. To a baby, no less. If this happened by accident, like if they lost the cat and then found it in this state after being lost for so long, we would understand. But we can’t agree to this. It’s hard to believe that this family would refuse to take back this sweet dog after they went through the trouble of microchipping him. You know, it might be a good thing. They clearly didn’t deserve him anyway. We trust this rescue a hundred times more than the family to find a good forever home for this special thing.
Bear Cat Rescue’s friends feederofcats, thank you so much for the love and gifts you’re sending to this little guy, whom I’m affectionately calling Dweeb. He is very dehydrated, has a very painful and infected mouth, and was hospitalized with IV fluids, IV antibiotics, and pain meds.
Friends of Bear Cat Rescue feederofcats He’s still in the hospital, and I’ll let you know more later. Sadly, only a dentist can fix his jaw, but it’s the weekend and no one is in the office. At least he’s getting help until we come up with a plan.
Dweeb, the most ridiculous baby jank ever, is out of the hospital! Friends of Bear Cat Rescue feederofcats He will go back on Tuesday for surgery on his jaw. He has a feeding tube right now so we can make sure he gets his meds and food. He’s starving and going crazy over food. The poor little guy has been losing weight since 6:09 AM.
Friends of Bear Cat Rescue feederofcats asked what he did first when he got out of the carrier. He just wanted to crawl into my lap and feel loved. “Little man, you will never feel unwanted or abandoned again. I promise you that.”
We just know, in our hearts, that this little man will get hundreds of applications to adopt him as soon as he’s ready. Not only is he one of the cutest kittens we’ve ever seen, but he also looks like he’s ready to love someone. He was supposed to be a cat that lived in a house. The outside world, which has already almost broken him, isn’t for him. He needs love, and we know he’s going to get a lot of it.
