Last month, Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions received an urgent request to help a mother cat and her four kittens.
While inspecting a vacant apartment, a manager discovered a heartbreaking scene — a mother cat and her four kittens had been left behind by the previous tenant, with no one to care for them.
The manager stepped in with kindness, making sure they were fed and safe while searching for help. About a week later, he was directed to Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions.
As soon as the organization was contacted, they immediately took the little family in. The mother cat, named Chai, had done everything she could to protect and care for her babies despite the difficult situation. She seemed relieved knowing they were finally safe.
Her kittens — Saffron, Chamomile, Earl Grey, and Kombucha — quickly adjusted to their foster home. They spent their time playing, exploring, and curling up together in a cozy pile for naps.
Once the kittens grew older and became independent, Chai was finally able to step away from motherhood. She began to relax, enjoy affection, and focus on herself.
After being spayed, she was placed for adoption and didn’t have to wait long. A loving family soon welcomed her into their home, where she now lives a happy and pampered life like a queen.
Meanwhile, the four kittens continue to thrive in their foster home. They run around with endless energy, turning every space into their playground, and later gather for cuddles.
They are all friendly, fearless, curious, and full of personality. Wherever one goes, the others follow, and before long, they form an adorable cuddle pile.
The resident cat, Regina George, has also taken on a nurturing role, watching over them and gently guiding them. The kittens are fascinated by her and learn from her every move.
Each kitten has a unique personality — Saffron is the most adventurous and playful, Chamomile is calmer and more reserved, Earl Grey is confident and strikingly beautiful, and Kombucha is independent and observant.
This story is a reminder that a little compassion and timely help can completely change lives. Today, they are all safe and moving toward a future filled with love and comfort.
