Four kittens a tomcat, and other animals were saved when a cat showed up on a man’s porch.
When a gray cat showed up on a man’s porch looking for food and shelter, she wasn’t by herself. Four kittens trailed behind her.
The small family made the decision to stay once food and comfortable beds were set outside. The loving man quickly won the mother cat over, and she even asked him if she could have a pet.
The house was close to a wildlife-filled wooded area. The man asked for assistance because he was worried about the mother and her kittens’ safety.
Animal rescuer Jenny saw a video of the feline family and offered to help. She was shocked to discover a white tomcat that resembled the kittens and a second mother cat when she got there.
Jenny set humane traps throughout the property and waited patiently, determined to get everyone to safety.
The gray mother cat was weak and extremely underweight, but Jenny managed to pick her up. After securing her four kittens, the small family was taken to Chatons Orphelins Montreal, where they were given emergency medical attention.
Saskia the mother cat, weighed just four pounds. According to the rescue, “she hadn’t eaten in a long time and wasn’t producing milk for her kittens, who were also sick and thin.”
Saskia was taken to the hospital as her condition worsened, and the veterinarians there found that she was suffering from a serious illness She battled for her life over the course of the following few days while receiving critical care from a committed veterinary team around-the-clock. “She received the best care and began to recover.” She recovered her strength and resumed eating after a week in the hospital.
Saskia had put all of her energy into keeping her kittens safe, neglecting her own needs in the process. She could finally relax and recover now that her babies were in capable hands With medicine and a newfound enthusiasm for life, she went back to her foster home.
Saskia was full of energy and had gained more than 2.5 pounds in just two months.
Rescuers kept working to assist the remaining cats in the meantime. “Everest is a tomcat with massive polydactyl paws. It’s obvious he’s the father of all the kittens, and he performed better outside.”
Everest was terrified when they eventually saved him, but beneath his hard exterior was a kind heart yearning for love. “You could tel
Everest gradually relaxed in a serene setting with consistent meals and cozy beds. His actual self started to show. “Once he realized there was no more danger and that his human was kind, he came out of his shell.”
He first took refuge inside a tiny cardboard box With more self-assurance, he went to the windowsill and took the couch. His foster mother was shocked to discover him dozing off on her bed one day.
The second mother cat and her kitten were successfully saved by Jenny. They all fully recovered, were spayed or neutered, and are now flourishing in their foster homes with the right care.
All four of Saskia’s kittens have grown enormously. They enjoy cuddling, piling into cozy laps, and purring all over the place. The kittens can now eat and play independently, allowing their mother to finally take care of herself.
From barely surviving outside to thriving as an indoor cat, Saskia has come a long way. She has a strong purr motor, a voracious appetite and a strong desire for human company. She appears relieved that her days of living on the streets are over.
