Dachshund’s Adorable Love Story With the Family Cat Feels Like a Real-Life Disney Tale

I’m always on board when an unlikely friendship arises. Whether it’s in a good book, an unusual romantic comedy with an unexpected conclusion, or (my favorite) two different pets who shouldn’t work together but do, I adore a good subversion of expectations. I have to live vicariously through the internet because I’ve never had the opportunity to witness a dog-cat couple fall in love!

Like the caption says, they really did need each other, as if threaded through the multiverse for generations. Some refer to Milton and Hammy as soulmates, and given how quickly they bonded and how much they still depend on each other, I don’t think that’s far off.

Seeing as Milton came in as a little Dachshund, the three-legged kitty must’ve understood the duty to love and protect him, and she came through with flying colors. I can’t think of anything better than finding your best friend, companion and sibling from the first interaction.
