After adopting two kittens and a cat they believed to be their mother, they learned that the kind protector was actually a male.
After discovering three struggling cats in their yard last month, a worried member of the public contacted Best Friends Felines, their neighborhood rescue.
Clinging to a much bigger orange-and-white cat, two of them were about two months old. They couldn’t turn the three away and intervened to assist even though the rescue was already at capacity. The two hungry kittens and the adult cat they had been told was their mother were swiftly taken in by the team.
The team quickly discovered that the “mother cat” was actually a male.
To make sure no more cats or kittens had been abandoned, rescuers thoroughly searched the area. None were discovered despite a thorough search. The rescue stated, “We suspect their mother cat has moved on due to the state of the kittens.”
The kittens, Dobby and Gremlin, were finally safe despite being underweight, filthy, and afraid of people.
Linkle, the orange-and-white feline, was thought to be about eighteen months old. He was kind and gentle, and he didn’t mind the kittens hiding behind him or clinging to him for solace. “He has a huge heart and has shown great courage, even though life hasn’t started off well for him.”
Linkle assumed the role of big brother right away, “snuggling up to the kittens, keeping them warm, and offering quiet comfort like a true little guardian.”
Linkle had battle scars all over his face when he arrived, which were obvious indicators of a hard life on the streets. He made it his goal to keep the children safe despite everything he had gone through. Because of his extreme tolerance, they were able to use him as a shield while they adapted to their new environment.
Shortly after the kittens were placed in care, Linkle was observed cuddling one of them protectively while they were all curled up to sleep. It simply made our hearts melt.
Shortly after arriving, Linkle started playing “a game of cat footsies” to the surprise of his foster family. Despite his nervousness, he expressed how much love he still had and how much he wanted to be trusted.
The kittens are getting to know their people and discovering that they consistently bring food. “Dobby loves napping on a pair of dumbbells and is obsessed with bunny-kicking toys that are much bigger than he is.”

The smaller of the two, the Gremlin, has the cutest wispy ear tufts and is a fluffy bundle. Despite his small stature, his personality more than makes up for it. He will dash across the room to tackle his brother because he loves tube treats.
Linkle is becoming more self-assured every day, acclimating to indoor life, and becoming more receptive to the notion that people can be trusted. He’s found his reflection in the mirrors and grown to love sweets, but he’s always there to give his younger brothers his undivided attention.
Linkle and the kittens no longer have to worry about where they will get their next meal because of the prompt rescue. They cuddle up in a cozy bed each night and drift off to sleep to the comforting sound of their purrs.
Linkle continues to be an incredibly loving big brother. “We are confident that Linkle’s true colors will emerge with love, patience, and a secure home. Whoever is able to claim him as their own will be extremely fortunate.
