An upper respiratory infection caused severe congestion in a young gray-and-white cat She refused to eat medication that had been added to her food and had no appetite. One of the rescuers tried to administer the medication while wearing a protective glove because they thought she was feral. “To our surprise she just started purring,” Alyssa told Love Meow.
Even the colony caretaker, who had never been able to approach her closely enough to touch her, was in disbelief. The cat, named Nova, recovered her appetite and started to heal after receiving the right care and rest. “I think she knew she needed help, so she let down her walls.”

Soft blankets, cozy beds, and wholesome meals were among the comforts of indoor life that she soon discovered. Compared to the outdoor circumstances she had experienced, it was completely different. She would melt into a puddle of purrs and lean into Alyssa for more affection after a few gentle pats.

Nova’s lovely personality came to the fore as the infection cleared from her eyes and nose.
She began to greet her foster mother with a deep, rumbling purr and full-body stretches. Nova would turn to face Alyssa and spread her toes across her hand whenever Alyssa caressed her back.

Nova put on a full pound in less than ten days. Her affection seemed to grow, and her energy doubled. “A single week can have a profound impact. It demonstrates how taxing outdoor living is on their small bodies.
Her fur, which had been infested with fleas and ticks, changed into a velvety, smooth coat.
Nova is discovering the joy of play as her confidence grows. She enthusiastically jumps on springs and chases toy mice.
However, she still loves her people, which is her favorite thing in the world.
As though attempting to make up for lost time, Nova looks for affection whenever she can after spending so much time on the streets. When Alyssa enters the room, Nova is usually purring uncontrollably and waiting for belly rubs with her paws kneading the air.
The “feral” cat proved to be a genuine sweetheart with an incredibly endearing personality.
These days, Nova is well-known for her contented paws, captivating doe eyes, and never-ending need for cuddles. Sometimes all it takes to reveal a kind, hidden soul is a little tolerance and empathy.
