New Cat Café With Resident Feline Family Set to Open in Hull City Centre

Cat Café With Resident Feline

Cat lovers will soon have the perfect place to relax with their furry friends. This will be a great addition to Hull’s cafe culture. Cat cafes have been popular in Japan for a long time, and they are now popular in a lot of UK towns and cities as well. They are a great way for people who don’t have pets or can’t keep them because they don’t have enough space to enjoy them.

Now Hull is getting a new cat cafe. The owners say it will be the city’s only fully gluten-free cafe and will also help find new homes for rescued cats through a partnership with local shelters. Sam Kite and Cat Powling, the founders, have said that they are ready to turn a currently secret city center location into a top-notch kitty haven.

The two are working hard behind the scenes to get Hull’s newest cat meeting place, The Weary Traveller Cat Cafe, ready to open in late May. They can’t wait to welcome their first guests, both human and furry. The young business owners will have up to 16 cats that guests can meet, but only if the cats want to. Up to eight of these cats will be the resident cat family, and the rest will come from local shelters and can be adopted through the business.

Cat Powling, 28, who started the cafe and named it after her own tabby cat, Weary Traveler, said, “I’ve always loved cats and knew that cat cafes existed.” A few years ago, I actually went to one and it was amazing, but I couldn’t eat anything because I have Celiac disease.

“Join us on WhatsAppMany of the ready-made drinks weren’t good for me either. I thought that if I was going to make a place for myself, it would have cats and food I could eat.

Sam Kite, 30, another founder, said, “I’ve always liked the idea of starting my own business.” I’ve always had a hard time with regular jobs. When Cat told me that she wanted to open a cat cafe one day, I thought I could use my skills to start a business that would hopefully bring together Hull’s love of cats and the fact that gluten intolerances and celiac disease are not taken seriously enough.

At first, the two will run the business together, but they hope it will be popular enough to hire more people. The Weary Traveler Cat Cafe will be getting a makeover with a “sino-Japanese rustic aesthetic.” This will include bright and traditional Japanese designs and murals, as well as a lot of blues and pinks, to make the place feel unique and cozy. There will be sofas and coffee tables set up to make the space feel like a cozy living room where people can relax.

They will serve cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, and other baked goods, as well as savory toasties and sandwiches, as well as hot and cold drinks. And the most important part of their planning is the cat family, which is their main attraction for visitors.

Cat said, “When we first open we’ll have about seven or eight cats that will be residents and stay with us until they retire.”

Sam said, “The eight cats that live here will stay with us, but we are also contacting local cat charities. We’ve already talked to a few people, and we’d like to have 15 or 16 cats. The other eight should come from the many cat charities in Hull, such as Never Give Up Rescue, Jenny’s Cat House, and Harley’s Angels. We can make a place where people can see the work they do, the great values they hold, and how important it is to adopt and foster at the same time.

Thor, the short-haired cat, and Loki are the first two cats that live here.

Sadly, kids under eight won’t be able to go, and only kids eight and older with adults will be able to go.

Sam went on, “First and foremost we want to make sure that the cats are safe. We also want to make sure that all of our customers can read and understand our rules, which say that you shouldn’t chase the cats, pick them up, or pull them. If they come up to you and want to be petted, that’s fine; give them all the attention they want.” But when they say it’s time to go, you let them go.

The owners of the cat mad company are both very excited and ready to go. Cat said, “We have hope.” Very hopeful. “We haven’t really left anything out of the plan.”

Sam said, “We’ve put our heart and soul into this for the last four or five months, and for the last two months, we’ve been working on it every day.” We believe we’re in a good place and I’m just excited to get it going and make it real.
