They Scoop Up Seven Kittens from Yard and Watch Them Transform Overnight Indoors

Seven Kittens from Yard

Earlier this week, Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions was alerted to seven kittens found in a backyard. Despite days of searching, their mom was nowhere in sight. With the help of volunteers, all the kittens were brought to safety. They received treatment for their colds, and after a vet visit, they settled into their foster home, ready for a new beginning. Even though they were tired and scruffy, they were content, nestled in warm blankets rather than huddling outside.

Kittens Found in Backyard

The kittens were found in a backyard without their mother. Ellen Richter, their foster mom, took them in, and after some reassurance, they began to adjust. At five to six weeks old, three were Siamese mixes and four were tabbies. As soon as they smelled food, they eagerly gathered at the feeding station.

Hungry Kittens Eating

The kittens were ravenous, scarfing down nearly ten cans of food that first night. Some even stepped into the dishes, eating as if they didn’t know when they would get their next meal. After filling their bellies, they returned to their carrier one by one, even though there were plenty of beds and blankets around.

Recovery and Growth

The next morning, the kittens woke up with renewed energy and fresh appetites. Their coats appeared healthier, and their energy levels improved. The braver kittens ventured out to explore the room and settled into a large bed filled with fluffy blankets. Sweet Tart, the smallest, was the most curious, watching his siblings while taking comfort in his blanket.

Sweet Moments in Foster Care

After just one day in foster care, all the kittens left their carrier and curled up together in a cozy pile. Razzle-Dazzle, the long-haired tabby with a huge personality, kept watch as the others fell asleep. BonBon, one of the Siamese kittens, loved wrestling with the blankets, rolling until he was completely cocooned in them.

Playtime and Growth

The kittens quickly gained weight and strength, thanks to their insatiable appetites. Tim Tam, the tabby with brown paws, became the largest of the litter, while Sweet Tart, the smallest, compensated with his playful personality. After playtime, they would always return to the largest bed to cuddle up and sleep together.

Excitement Over Toys

The kittens were introduced to new toys, and the scratcher became an instant hit. Razzle, in particular, loved pouncing on the butterfly, with Sweet Tart joining in the fun. When Ellen entered the room, the kittens rushed to her feet, following her like tiny ducklings, some even trying to ride on her slippers.
