They Bring in a Kitten Spotted in a Puddle and Watch Her Blossom Alongside Cat Friend Who Matches Her Spirit

Fallon, a tiny kitten, was found in a puddle along with her two siblings. They were rushed into an incubator to warm up as they were cold to the touch. Despite the best efforts to save all of them, Fallon became the lone survivor, showing remarkable strength and resilience. At just 110 grams and only four days old, Fallon, a polydactyl kitten, began to show her remarkable spirit.

According to Kelsey, a foster volunteer with IndyHumane, Fallon immediately adapted to feeding with a bottle, making her one of the easiest kittens to care for. “She immediately warmed up and took to a bottle with ease. I knew pretty quickly she was going to be just fine,” Kelsey said. Perhaps her extra toes gave her an advantage, as she held the bottle with them with ease.

As Fallon grew, she became increasingly curious about her surroundings. Once her eyes opened, she started exploring, toddling around the room and kneading her blankets with her oversized “mittens.” Her extra toes seemed to give her balance, and she started hopping off small furniture pieces and testing her limits. Fallon’s energy was boundless, and soon it became clear that she needed a companion.

With a playful spirit, Fallon began to seek attention, zipping around the room like a tiny supervisor. She greeted Kelsey with squeaky “roars” and loved to climb into her lap. At just one pound, she was full of confidence, but her desire for companionship was undeniable. Kelsey thought of finding her a friend, and that’s when she learned about Isla, a tiny tabby who needed a friend.

Isla, a singleton kitten who was around two and a half weeks old, had a playful streak but needed a companion to match her energy. When Kelsey heard about Isla, she knew that the two kittens would make the perfect pair. Their first meeting was interesting, as Isla, being a week older, swatted and hissed at Fallon. However, within 24 hours, the two became best friends. “I think Isla is one of Fallon’s favorite things,” Kelsey shared.

From that moment, the two kittens were inseparable. They leapt off furniture, chased each other around, and had endless fun exploring their surroundings. Fallon, although younger and smaller, kept up with Isla and held her own during every play session. The pair, who had both been bottle-fed, grew into boisterous and adventurous young cats who loved to be near each other.

“They love to play together and just be near each other,” Kelsey said. “I’m so glad I was able to give Fallon a companion for the rest of her time in foster care.” Fallon and Isla, once lonely and in need of love, now had each other to grow and play with in their foster home.
