Two tiny kittens began their lives in a tree. Months later, they have blossomed into a pair of bonded house cats.

A few months ago Ember, a neonatal kitten fosterer with Catz 4 Life, received a call about two kittens in urgent need of help.
Amid heavy storms a kind woman and her neighbor discovered the kittens tucked inside a hollowed-out tree. They brought them indoors but soon realized the little ones required more care than they could provide. With the rescue’s support Ember stepped in to take the kittens.
The kittens needed hands-on care, and Ember was able to get them through it,” Aimee, president of Catz 4 Life, told Love Meow.

Despite their rough beginning the kittens showed remarkable resilience. With attentive care and nourishing food, their eyes cleared, their energy returned, and they quickly began to gain weight.
They demanded their bottles like miniature tigers roaring for a feast. Once their bellies were full, they would lick off their milk-staches, flop onto their blankets, and curl up together for a nap.

The tabby girl named All That, was bold and confident from the start. Her brother, Chips (short for A Bag of Chips), was strong-willed and determined. Even at his weakest he never stopped fighting.
They discovered the joy of running, jumping, and pouncing. As soon as their foster mom entered the room, they would leap to their feet and race to the bottle.

When they were weaned and litter-trained, they transitioned to another foster home where they could continue to grow and socialize. “As someone who is equipped to foster more needy cats (like bottle babies), I’m so grateful for other fosters who step up to take [older] kittens,” Ember shared on Instagram.
It frees up space in her home for the ones who need her most.

It wasn’t long before All That and Chips became little couch companions. They loved staying close to their people, whether perched on a warm lap or curled into the crook of an arm.
Their curiosity and boundless kitten energy also turned them into mischief-makers, pulling off all sorts of playful antics that kept their foster mom entertained.

All That is a sweet, sweet girl. She would crawl inside your skin if she could, if it meant she could get closer. She is adventurous fearless and always the leader between the two,” Aimee added.
Chips is a goofy lovable boy. He follows his sister’s lead. Though a touch more reserved, he’s incredibly friendly and never misses a chance to cuddle.

I’m glad my husband is here because my lap isn’t always big enough for both of them—we can share the snuggles. They will sit in our laps for almost the entire day when we’re working from home.
The two hop into a warm lap together, offering the best kind of office “assistance” and filling the space with soothing purrs.

They look for each other if they’re apart and sleep wrapped around one another like pretzels. They are just precious prefect babies. I really don’t know why they haven’t been adopted yet. If people could just meet them, they would fall head over heels.
Their purrs are so loud and resonant that they vibrate their fosterer’s body, washing away all the worries in the world.
